LeBron James Family Foundation

Working with the LeBron James Family Foundation has been a truly unique experience with my time at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron. From the yearly "Wheels for Education" partnership which oversaw the delivery of hundreds of bikes, to the opening of the now famous I Promise School, partnering with the Foundation shot our franchise into the national spotlight. 🏀

The "I Promise" School

“When we first started, people knew I was opening a school for kids. Now people are going to really understand the lack of education they had before they came to our school. People are going to finally understand what goes on behind our doors.” -LeBron James

The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron franchise was heavily involved in the moving in and opening of the now famous I Promise School in Akron Ohio. It took our entire franchise crew and entire moving truck fleet to move everything in time for opening day.

Our team was also invited to the opening ceremony of the school. It was an extraordinary day. Thousands of Akron locals, community partners, students, and media were invited to the opening ceremony. Everyone involved in the planning, building and completion of the I Promise School was represented. I was picked as the one to carry our flag into the school where it still hangs today.

The opening ceremony included a speech by LeBron himself who thanked the City of Akron and the Community for their support of this new school and support of him throughout his career.

"Wheels for Education"

Have you seen some of LeBron’s Wheels for Education students riding around Akron on their I PROMISE bikes? They are the beautiful creation of the Foundation's parter, the Summit Cycling Center. We couldn't be more proud to move and help assemble these bikes every summer with local Akron kids.

"Just a Kid From Akron"

Being the preferred moving company of the LeBron James Family Foundation, I was also involved in a big moment for LeBron James and Akron personally. When the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Championships I was invited to the home of LeBron James to capture every moment. His team reached out to all of his Akron area partners and I was invited to represent TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron.

It was a fun day full of love for LeBron, basketball and Akron. The Swensons Food Truck handing out free burgers was a nice touch too (IYKYK 🍟🍔). I created the video above to highlight the impact his win had on not only the Akron area but how proud we were being Akronites ourselves. When LeBron James himself showed up, the crowd absolutely lost it.
